AMBULATORY REHABILITATION CENTRE (CAR)

The Ambulatory Rehabilitation Centre (CAR) of the Bois-Bougy Clinic is equipped with the latest technical equipment and a balneotherapy unit. Here, patients will benefit from the best therapeutic methods.

Accompanied by our multidisciplinary team, patients can be followed in physiotherapy or in one of our specific and personalised programmes.

If patients wish to continue after their rehabilitation stay, we will be able to offer them appropriate care.

Oncology Physical Rehabilitation Programme

Oncology rehabilitation aims to restore a state of physical, psychological and social well-being so as to accompany you through each stage of your treatment and enable you to take charge of your life again, with as much autonomy as possible.

Over a period of 12 weeks, 2 to 3 times a week, and with the help of a multidisciplinary team composed of doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, sports teachers and a dietician, our objectives will be to :

  • Restore and improve your physical abilities
  • Reduce the side effects of treatment (pain, oedema)
  • Live better with the disease and accept the associated changes
  • Reduce fatigue and stress
  • regain confidence

This programme is done in collaboration with your oncologist/doctor.

COURSE OF THE PROGRAMME

Upon your arrival, an individual assessment is carried out with our doctor, our dietician and our physiotherapist at the beginning of the programme to evaluate your general condition and thus personalise the rehabilitation programme.

  • Outdoor activities: walking course.
  • Indoor activities: adapted physical activities, stretching, coordination and balance exercises, exercise training, muscle strengthening.
  • Complementary activities: pilates, relaxation therapy.
  • Therapeutic education session: learning to manage physical effort, living with one’s disability.

At the end of the treatment, a check-up is carried out and compared to the initial check-up.

Depending on your needs, we can supplement this with specific therapies: psychotherapy, lymphatic drainage, relaxing massage, balneotherapy.

To further consolidate the benefits of the outpatient treatment, we can continue to guide you with our medical fitness.

Outpatient physical activity programme for seniors

The loss of independence of our elderly is often the consequence of repeated falls, osteoporotic fractures and sarcopenia.

The latter is an age-related syndrome defined by a decrease in muscle mass which, beyond a certain threshold, can lead to a strength deficit and have an impact on functional autonomy.

The multidisciplinary outpatient programme for the treatment of sarcopenia offered at the Bois-Bougy clinic fully meets the WHO’s global recommendations on the challenge of “healthy ageing” by offering regular training in endurance, strength and coordination, while associating nutritional monitoring.

Over a period of 12 weeks, 3 times a week for 6 weeks then twice a week for the remaining 6 weeks, our objectives will be to

  • Restore and improve your physical capacities
  • Slow down the phenomenon of muscular ageing
  • Improve coordination and balance
  • Prevent falls and regain confidence
  • Reduce fatigue and pain
